The website development life cycle ends up with
Now I am going to take a step-by step description of the website development stages or life cycle.
In the initial stage of investigation, developer should examine the whole internet portfolio of the agency or organization for which the website is intended and not just the content proposed by the organization. This will help to take into account any content consolidation that may happen in future or to avoid obsolete data.
When planning a website, the developer should take care of several matters. This is one of the most important stage as your plan is going to work out. A developer should understand the audience or viewers of the website and what they need now and also in the future. The purpose of the website should be clearly defined as it will avoid unnecessary wastage of time and money. A structural arrangement of the topics and contents that you are going to cover will be useful. The name of the website plays an important role in internet marketing. Decide what your website’s name and register the domain name. For better creativity, a competitive analysis of similar websites will be helpful. But keep in mind that intellectual properties are copyrighted. So do not imitate. Let your imagination do the work for your client.
III) Design, Build and Test:
In this stage the website is developed using the appropriate tools, built and tested with users and with the client agency for which the website is intended. Any modification or alteration will be done in this stage as per the request from the client. Any alteration or modification need to be tested again to ensure complete reliability before launching of the website.
IV) Operate, maintain and evaluate:
Once the website is launched, it will reach the fourth stage which consists of operation, maintenance and evaluation of the website. Furthermore In this stage the website is monitored thoroughly for any possible improvements or any malfunctioning. Also this stage includes keeping everything up to date and reports will be generated on performance. In fact Analysis of these reports and monitoring forms help the developer ensure that the website is a success. Moreover Periodic evaluation of the website is a key element as it will help us decide to redevelop or decommission the website.
Redevelopment will lead the process back to planning stage and will repeat the same course. In fact the website development life cycle will ends up with the decommissioning of the site. That means the site will be permanently recalled or destroyed.
Also within this stage comes the requirement to archive materials which are not used or data which is very old. If the evaluation leads to the consolidation of the web content or site or if the evaluation result yields that the data has no requirement further, it need to consolidated or closed.0
