Responsive website

We all know that what a responsive website is? Today the use of mobile phones for browsing internet has increased rapidly. So a website has to be optimized to view in a mobile device. Each mobile have a different display size and often use a different approach to show the contents on the screen. A responsive website changes the layout based on the size and compatibility of the particular device.

The web designers face certain problems while designing a responsive website. They have to work in a different way with the customers in creating the responsive website.

Now let us see the problems associated with the designing of responsive website.
  • Explaining RWD to the clients:

The ‘old’ method of designing a website was a very linear one that made it simple for clients to know. They’d go through a briefing stage, then some kind of wireframing and structural planning stage, then they’d get a group of pixel-perfect visuals to choose apart. Only when were these signed off would the site itself be completed. But it becomes difficult for the designers to explain to the clients that there is no visual stage anymore. So it is good to demonstrate the responsive website to the clients.important problem in creating a resposive website

  • The lack of a static design stage:

One of the large problems designers reported was that a modification within the ‘old’ design method is needed to create the most of responsive design. Rather than making static screenshots, designers rely even more than ever on fast sketches, wireframing and creating fast html and CSS prototypes by ‘designing’ within the browser. The solution for this problem is to design more elements and fewer layouts fro your website.

  • Navigation:

Navigation on sites is mostly seen to be horizontal on the top of the page or vertical on the left part of the page. It currently wants a more considered approach. Choosing of navigation process is very important and it should be based on the site’s content, information, design considerations and architecture. Also you have to check whether your navigation is working in all the devices.

  • Images:

There are a variety of options available for handling images in responsive designs. Like code, the icons and images should be flexible. In most of the devices they scaled up poorly. So we have to find a solution to recover this problem. The better solution is to provide SVG, scripts and icon fonts for the images.

  • Tables:

The most important problem for a responsive website is the tables. The tables may contain rows and columns. It becomes difficult to scale these tables in small screen devices.

  • Conversion of old fixed-width sites:

Another most important problem was how to update the code base of an old fixed-width web site to change it to be responsive.
